Reflective: Teacher candidates will be reflective practitioners, and independent and life-long learners.
I wrote a paper titled Past and Present in my Assessment for ESL course during the fall of 2008. This artifact provides evidence of reflection (DM5) because I was able to reflect on my past and present educational opportunities. By writing this paper I was able to reflect on what I will or won’t do when I become a teacher one day. This paper provides evidence that I will be a reflective practitioner and a life long learner.
I created a Teacher Work Sample for my Capstone class during the Spring 2009 semester. In this work sample, I wrote a reflection based on the lessons I had taught. This artifact provides evidence of reflection (DM5) because I was able to reflect upon the lessons that I had taught and find ways that would have made the lessons better, or increased student learning. After reflecting on my lessons, I was able to see what the students needed to spend more time on, or what instructional strategies were really effective.
