Environment

Environment: Teacher candidates can create classroom environments that encourage active learning, self-motivation, and social interaction among students.

During the Spring of 2008, in my Classroom management class, I created a Classroom Management Plan(CMP). This management plan included class rules, procedures, routines, arrangements, attention getter’s, consequences, and rewards. This artifact provides evidence of environment (DM4) because it shows that I can create a classroom environment that encourages active learning, self-motivation, and social interation among studnets.

While creating my classroom management plan, I created an arrangement that I would like to use in my classroom. This artifact provides evidence of environment (DM4) because it demonstrates my ability to recognize the important aspects of a classroom. I had to keep in mind many different factors that would affect the way that my class would function. For example, I put multiple students at a table so that there could be cooperative learning opportunities. This artifact provides evidence that I can create a classroom that will encourage social interactions between students.
